What is a mindful wedding florist?

PLANTING MY ROOTS

IN PORTLAND

Like all wonderful things, Mod & Mae started with a super bloom. A rare and spectacular natural phenomenon where a huge group of flowers all bloom at once. There I was, little 5-year-old me, surrounded by thousands of California Poppys. And I was home.

Flash forward to adult me. As a native Californian who moved to Oregon during a frigid February, I wasn't sure how I would acclimate. As I walked along the rugged Oregon Coastline for the very first time, snow crunched under my feet. I realized quickly that I could've left my beach towel and sunnies in the car. This wasn't the southern California beach I was so accustomed to. Thankfully Spring wasn't too far off! When it arrived, I had an entirely new understanding of what Spring could be. The variety and abundance of flowers here was like nothing I'd ever seen. I felt that same undeniable sense of being home. My mission with Mod & Mae is to encapsulate that feeling and translate it into my work. I strive for each of my clients to feel uplifted, supported, and heard. Florals are such a fun way to bring life into any event, and I aim for my pieces to be an expression of my clients' individuality.

What is a mindful florist? Mindfulness to me is the ability to fully immerse and appreciate what I'm working on. And more importantly, who I'm working with. I value deeply that my clients trust me with the most special moments in their lives and aim for my work to represent my passion and gratitude.
